ATS Chef Earns International Recognition at Souss-Gastro Festival

ATS chef Nestor Bhone, based at a global multinational mining company site in Burkina Faso, has received two gold medals at the prestigious International Souss Gastro Festival held recently in the Moroccan city of Agadir. Representing Burkina Faso as part of the Burkinabe national team, Chef Bhone was recognised for his excellence in fruit & vegetable sculpture and fish preparation.

The International Souss Gastro Festival brought together over 20 countries to celebrate global culinary talent and promote Moroccan gastronomy. Among the field of international competitors, Burkina Faso stood out as the only country from sub-Saharan Africa, and made a powerful impression.

The Burkinabe team achieved six gold medals, one silver medal, two bronze medals, and three special trophies, underscoring both technical precision and creative flair. Chef Bhone’s contributions were instrumental to this collective success and are a testament to the calibre of talent nurtured within ATS kitchens.

To support this achievement, ATS proudly sponsored the Burkinabe Association of Chefs, providing professional uniforms and funding for food supplies used during the competition. This investment reflects ATS’s long-standing commitment to enabling excellence and developing local talent.

Following the team’s return to Ouagadougou, members of the Burkinabe Association of Chefs visited ATS to personally express their gratitude, marking a moment of shared celebration and mutual respect.

This milestone forms part of ATS’s ongoing commitment to uplifting African excellence, empowering emerging talent, and investing in meaningful, lasting impact beyond the workplace.
